Matthew Dahm, PhD, a recent graduate of the Department of Environmental Health doctoral program and his advisor, Sergey Grinshpun, PhD, professor, are co-recipients of the 2019 Alice Hamilton Award given by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. Recognized for their leadership through science by publishing, their work addressed cross-sectional epidemiologic and exposure assessment studies of workers exposed to carbon nanotubes and nanofibers in the United States. The award honors Alice Hamilton, MD, a pioneering scholar and occupational physician, who was the first female faculty member at Harvard University.
