Bio: Eric is joining us after earning his MD/MPH degrees from East Tennessee State University James H. Quillen College of Medicine. During his medical school career, he participated in many activities to improve healthcare for underserved populations such as ETSU Health Bridge and a Global Health rotation in rural Belize. He also worked to elevate the voices of students in medical education through his role as President of the Organization of Student Representatives and a member of multiple curriculum design committees. He also participated in several research projects including a survey to understand and address medical misconceptions. His academic excellence earned him induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. We are so excited to welcome such an amazing servant leader into our program!
Bio: Kelly attended Johns Hopkins University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience. After college, she contributed to multiple research studies as a clinical research assistant, including projects testing new medical devices and perioperative interventions. While completing her MD at Case Western Reserve University, she also obtained her MPH with a concentration in Global Health. Her capstone focused on environmental health risks in temporary relief camps in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. While in medical school, Kelly was a member of the LGBTQ+ Curricular Action Committee, served as co-president of Case Med Pride, and was active in multiple volunteer/service opportunities. She is co-author on multiple peer-reviewed publications and is lead author for a book chapter on ways to integrate LGBTQ+ health topics into undergraduate medical education. We are so grateful to be welcoming an incredible educator and leader into our Med-Peds community. Kelly is already a leader in areas of health equity and educational inclusion – we are so thankful that she is joining our Med-Peds family!
Bio: Kane attended UNC-Chapel Hill for medical school after earning his BS from UNC-Chapel Hill and his MSPH from Emory University. Throughout medical school he pursued multiple leadership, scholarly, and community-oriented service endeavors. As Co-President of the Farmworker Student Health Alliance he organized mobile clinics to deliver healthcare to farmworkers’ families. As Co-VP of the medical student research society he helped cultivate a culture of scholarship and demystify barriers to research during medical school. He has also participated in multiple research projects including field research on farmworker health and research on drug use-associated infective endocarditis. Through these projects he has shown a passion for using his public health knowledge to improve healthcare for underserved populations. We are incredibly lucky that Kane is joining our residency program!
Bio: Bree Cattelino completed her medical school training at Drexel University. Prior to matriculation, she worked for Chemonics International, where she was part of a team for the USAID Global Health Supply Chain-Procurement & Supply Chain Management project, which part of programming working in more than 50 countries to strengthen health supply chains and health systems. During medicals school, she pursued multiple opportunities in health policy, education, wilderness medicine, and medical humanities. Through her work with the Health Outreach Project in Philadelphia, she helped organize health fairs and coordinated programming to support men recovering from addiction. Though the American Medical Association, she participated in national advocacy for healthcare reform, including legislative visits. She has completed training in wilderness medicine, which she taught in conference settings and applied in the Indian Himalayas. We are proud to welcome Bree and her wealth of experience in our Med-Peds program!
Bio: Mira Dani attended the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at University of Nevada Las Vegas for her doctorate and earned an MPH through University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Throughout medical school, she pursued opportunities with a focus on LGBTQ health, equity, teaching, and volunteerism. She served at the Vice President of QlubMed, which focused on LGBTQ health education and building LGBTQ community, completed AMSA’s Transgender Health Scholars Program. She has worked with the American Medical Association at the local and regional levels, leveraging her policy and advocacy skills to advance equity initiatives. In addition, she helped develop her medical school’s learning community model, did research on tobacco use behavior, and volunteered with survivors of trauma and those coping with eating disorders. We are thrilled to welcome Mira and her expertise into our program!
Bio: Madison attended Auburn University for her undergraduate studies, where she completed a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science. During her time at Auburn, she demonstrated her deep commitment to service, earning the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award for humanitarian leadership. She then attended the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, where she distinguished herself as a leader, educator, and advocate. She served in statewide medical student leadership, most recently as Speaker of the Medical Association of the State of Alabama (MASA) Student Section and contributed to medical education by co‑designing a peer‑to‑peer clinical reasoning program for preclinical students. She also supported resettled refugee families through her longitudinal involvement with DWELL Mobile. Her academic excellence and humanistic patient care earned her induction into both Alpha Omega Alpha and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. We are thrilled for Madison to join our Med‑Peds family and bring her leadership, compassion, and commitment to service to our program!
Bio: DeAsia attended University of Louisville where she completed a Bachelors of Science in Neuroscience and was awarded the Woodford R. Porter Scholarship for academic excellence and leadership. During undergrad, she served as a patient registrar and then a mental health technician for UofL Peace Hospital, where she provided direct support to individuals in acute mental health emergencies during the COVID pandemic. She then matriculated to University of Kentucky College of Medicine, where she continued to distinguish herself as a leader, mentor, and advocate. She served in the pediatric clinic in her student-run clinic, led community initiatives to address food insecurity and community health needs in central Kentucky, and co-founded the “Medical Student Survival Podcast”. During her M4 year, she has also served on her class's student advisory board, advocating for academic policy improvements and supporting initiatives that promoted student success, mental health, and inclusion. During medical school, DeAsia was inducted into both Alpha Omega Alpha and the Gold Humanism Honor Society, reflecting her exceptional scholarship and humanism. We are so excited for DeAsia to join our Med-Peds family and bring her leadership, academic excellence, and commitment to equity and service to our program!
Bio: Lindsay attended Rice University for undergraduate where she studied Biomedical Science and was awarded the Rice University Student Association’s Hugh Scott Cameron Service Award for her dedication to the community. She then worked as a research assistant at Texas Children’s Hospital for the CDC’s Immunization Project. For medical school, she matriculated to Texas A&M University where she was peer-elected to be a student advocate, serving as a confidential resource for her peers, especially those facing interpersonal, academic, or financial challenges. She served as student leader for the Feed My Sheep Children’s Free Clinic and was a Curriculum Committee Member for Scrubs Against Firearm Epidemic local chapter. She also conducted mixed-methods research exploring female physician leadership and was co-founder of a student-athlete-led program focused on destigmatizing mental health in athletics. Her amazing leadership led to her election into AOA and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. We are thrilled that Lindsay is bringing her leadership and clinical excellence to our program!
