Journal clubs are informal meetings that involve student presentations of published research articles. These meetings provide important experience in critical thinking and presentation skills.
The Neuroscience Program requires that all students attend and present at journal club class during the 1st two years; thereafter, students are encouraged to attend various specialized journal clubs in their research areas. Because of the broad range of neuroscience interests within the Neuroscience Graduate Program there are several specialized journal clubs from which to choose, and students may attend more than one.
