Stipends, Scholarships and Fellowships

The Neuroscience Graduate Program provides students with $33,000 in an annual stipend, which increases to $35,000 after students successfully pass their qualifying exams. Students who obtain an individual grant from the NIH or an external funding agency receive an additional $1,000 per year supplement to their existing stipend for the duration of the external award. Students admitted to the program are awarded a scholarship that covers the cost of tuition and fees associated with your graduate education. The program also pays for individual health insurance and provides support for travel to scientific meetings.

Outstanding candidates who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents may be offered distinguished graduate fellowships supported by our NIH Pre-Doctoral Training Grant (T32).

Students entering the Neuroscience Graduate Program with an interest in Membrane Science and Technology may be eligible for a stipend for up to three years upon successful application to the NSF Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship program.

In addition, students are eligible for a variety of institutional fellowships, including the Albert J. Ryan Fellowship, the Daniel Kline Fellowship, and the Scottish Rite Schizophrenia Research Fellowship.
