Pathways Visiting Elective
Pathways in Medicine Visiting Elective Program

The Office of Pathway Innovation and Inclusive Excellence is proud to sponsor the Pathways in Medicine Visiting Elective Program in collaboration with UC Health and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. We offer up to 12 funded visiting elective positions for 4th-year medical students who meet the criteria. These positions, available from July through October (space permitting), provide a stipend of up to $1,500 to assist with costs related to away rotations. Eligible students must be attending a U.S. medical school
Our program includes a 4-week clinical rotation in the departments of Anesthesia, Dermatology, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Family Medicine-Psychiatry, General Surgery and subspecialties (Cardiothoracic Surgery, Transplantation, Urology, Vascular Surgery), Internal Medicine, Medicine-Pediatrics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Pathology, Pediatrics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Psychiatry, Radiation Oncology, Radiology.

The University of Cincinnati Minority Housestaff Association was founded by a group of dedicated residents to support the advancement of underrepresented residents and fellows. The organization focuses on providing opportunities for mentorship, networking, recruitment, professional development, and community engagement, helping foster a strong, inclusive community among medical professionals.
