Maggie Fitzpatric
Student Worker
Maggie currently works as a Student Worker in the Radiation Oncology Department. She is an undergraduate Biomedical Sciences major at Xavier University and is an aspiring Medical Student. She has previously completed Organic Chemistry research at Xavier University focusing on the synthesis of Hippobrene A, a naturally occurring compound shown to help treat cancer. As a student worker she is studying the properties of osteosarcoma. In particular, she is exploring ways to improve radiotherapy results for osteosarcoma patients.
Rae Kovatich
Research Assistant
Rae currently works full-time as a research assistant in the Radiation Oncology department. She received two bachelor's degrees in biochemistry and neurobiology from the University of Cincinnati in April 2024, and is an aspiring PhD student. Prior to becoming a research assistant, she was a student worker in the same lab where she studied the effects of cholesterogenic gene expression on HNSCC radioresistance. As a research assistant, she aims to expand that project by including pancreatic cancer cells and primary patient samples. Overall, her goal is to improve radiation treatment outcomes for HNSCC and pancreatic cancer patients.
