Dr. Oria's research encompasses neural injury mechanisms, spinal cord and brain injuries, radiation exposure toxicity, and advanced therapies. The Oria Lab is dedicated to pioneering research that benefits individuals affected by neural injuries and radiation exposure.
Oria Lab, led by Dr. Marc Oria, is a pioneering research lab focused on neuroscience and radiation oncology. Dr. Oria's academic journey began with a Biology Sciences degree from the University of Barcelona in 2003, followed by a PhD in Neuroscience in Barcelona 2011. In 2012, he was awarded the prestigious Dame Sheila Sherlock EASL Post-Doctoral Fellowship, which led to groundbreaking research at UCL, London, studying brain inflammatory pathways.
In 2013, Dr. Oria joined the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, where he focused on development neuroscience in congenital malformations and potential therapies. In June 2023, he became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Cincinnati, concentrating on radiation therapy's and neuroinflammation's impact on the central nervous system.
