The University of Cincinnati Adult Cystic Fibrosis Center, certified by the national Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF), specializes in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of cystic fibrosis. We offer a unique focus on research, access to clinical trials, and novel quality improvement initiatives that include patient input.
The UC CF Center has been in existence since 1995. We offer a multidiscipline team approach to treatment. We have over 100 years of collective CF experience within our CF Care Team. Our center provides a continuum of care from basic science to treatment and care delivery. Our center currently cares for over 150 patients- but continues to grow. Our oldest CF patient at our center is 79 years old.
We have had an ongoing transition program since 1995 (affiliated with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital CF Center).
Our physician staff consists of Dr. Veronica Indihar (Director), Dr. Umair Khawar, and Dr. Bruce Trapnell.
CF Research is a major focus, with research from basic science to clinical trials.
Referrals are made to specialists that have CF experience within their own specialty and are knowledgeable about CF.
Hospitalization occurs at the University of Cincinnati – UC Health Hospital. Care is provided by the CF Nurse Practitioner Angela Oder or Pulmonary Consult Service on specifically dedicated units with staff trained in caring for cystic fibrosis.
