The UC Department of Ophthalmology is dependent on philanthropic support.

Donations are an important source of funding for our educational mission. Several endowed lectureship funds have been established and gifts may be designated to any of the following:

Taylor Asbury, MD Endowed Chair in Ophthalmology

This Endowed Chair will secure and sustain a source of funds for clinical teaching this is not tied to the fiscal status of the University as a whole or the State of Ohio. The Taylor Asbury, MD Endowed Chair in Ophthalmology will enable sustainable faculty development, ensure recruitment and retention of gifted clinical teachers and acknowledge faculty excellence within the Department.

Ophthalmology Development Fund

This fund is used to cover expenses incurred in donor-cultivation and fund-raising events, informal informational sessions with current residents and/or fellows, as well as applicants and any educational events and/or receptions hosted by the Department of Ophthalmology.

The Ophthalmology Medical Education and Research Fund will help to enhance resident and medical student education and further research efforts within the Department of Ophthalmology.
