Director's Welcome

Welcome to the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI). Our goal is to provide an interactive atmosphere where the educational needs of our medical students and residents are met during your rotation in our division. Medical students are allowed to spend time in the REI division during their fourth year.

Second- and third-year residents rotate in REI and are required to take a pre- and post-test as well as an end of rotation PowerPoint presentation on a topic of their choice.

The REI Division was established at the University of Cincinnati in 1981 by O’dell Owens, MD. In 1988, Drs. Robert Rebar, James Liu and Marcelle Cedars created a more comprehensive program that resulted in the first IVF program and a scientific focus that has translated into hundreds of research contributions to the field of reproductive medicine.

The REI currently has three faculty members and three fellows. The REI fellowship program started in 1988 and has since graduated 21 fellows who become leaders on a national level and continue to contribute to the patient care needs of women all over the United States.

Because of the extent of care provided, we receive referrals from the Tristate region. We also receive referrals because we are associated with the ATTAIN fertility program, which allows patients to undergo fertility services and possibly receive a refund of 70 to 100 percent if they do not achieve a pregnancy after three fresh or frozen cycles.
