We have an incredible amount of different conferences from both categorical programs, and Med-Peds specific, that our residents attend.

Board Preparation

Nationally about 75% of Med-Peds residents who complete training will become dually boarded. Close to 95% of our Cincinnati Med-Peds graduates are dually boarded. Our successful strategy? First and foremost, we help you individualize your learning using your in-training exam scores and our internal testing program. We also help you find and address your gaps, and supplement your learning with multiple opportunities for board study.

• MKSAP: We subsidize MKSAP board prep for all Med-Peds residents. Created by the American College of Physicians, MKSAP is one of the most robust learning platforms available. It includes learning analytics, multiple choice questions, high-yield topic chapters, and flashcards. MKSAP also includes a coaching function, allowing our program leadership to push you optional weekly questions. Our residents have formed teams and taken a gamified approach to answering these weekly questions, creating a fun residency-wide learning environment.
• MedStudy Pediatrics: We purchase access to MedStudy Pediatrics for our PGY3 and PGY4 residents. This platform has many similar fantastic learning functions to MKSAP, including learning analytics, a coaching function, and over 2000 multiple choice questions. Our 3^rd and 4^th year residents also have weekly questions pushed from this question bank, ensuring that during the last two years of residency you will have a mechanism to encourage regular studying for both IM and Peds boards.
• PREP: Residents have free access to PREP questions from the American Academy of Pediatrics. This high-yield question bank is available throughout all years of residency.
• Interactive board prep course: A longitudinal Internal Medicine board preparation course that has proven to raise in-training exam scores. This course includes hundreds of locally developed multiple-choice questions along with monthly board-review meetings.
