Division Director
Dr. Govil is a Professor of Internal Medicine and the Nephrology Division Director. He completed his nephrology fellowship at the University of Cincinnati and transplant nephrology fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Govil has research interests in medical management of kidney and pancreas transplant patients along with immunosuppression needs, kidney-pancreas outcomes, transplant glomerulopathy, de-sensitization of sensitized patients and has published extensively in the area. He is the Transplant Fellowship Program Director and the Section Chief of Transplant. He served as the Nephrology Fellowship Director until 2024 and continues to actively participate in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows.
Program Director
Dr. Patel is an Associate Professor and the Program Director for the Nephrology Fellowship. She also serves as a Course Director for the Medical Student Renal-GI Block and the Director of the Nephrology Medical Student Scholars Program.
Dr. Patel completed her residency at the University of Connecticut followed by Nephrology and Transplant fellowships at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, where she also served as Chief Fellow.
Actively involved in the education of fellows, residents, and medical students, Dr. Patel holds a Master's in medical education, equipping her well for her role as fellowship director. She has received numerous teaching awards, including the Golden Apple Award, Silver Apple Award, and Crimson Apple Awards from the University of Cincinnati Medical School, as well as the Outstanding Faculty Award from the Division of Nephrology at the University of Cincinnati Medical School. Dr. Patel was the fellowship associate program director before assuming her current role as program director.
Associate Program Director
Dr. Nysather is an Assistant Professor and serves as the Assistant Program Director for the Nephrology Fellowship. He is an Adult Nephrology consultant for the Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Center of Excellence at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. He received his medical degree from LMU-DCOM and completed his residency at Norton Community Hospital, where he was a Chief Resident and later Junior Faculty, earning the Attending of the Year award. Dr. Nysather completed his Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati. His interests include cystic kidney disease, renal genetics, acute kidney injury, critical care nephrology, and medical education.
Veteran Affairs Site Director
Dr. Saha is an Associate Professor and serves as the Veterans Affairs Hospital Site Director for the Nephrology Fellowship. She is the Section Chief of Nephrology at the Cincinnati VA. Dr. Saha received her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, completed her residency at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, and her Nephrology fellowship at Vanderbilt University. Her interests include the longitudinal care of patients with chronic kidney disease, quality metrics in chronic kidney disease, and narrative medicine, having also published poetry.
