About

The University of Cincinnati Infectious Diseases Center (IDC) is the overall umbrella organization housing several programs from the Division of Infectious Diseases. The IDC is composed of the Infectious Diseases Clinic, the AIDS Clinical Trials Unit (ACTU), and the Pennsylvania-Mid-Atlantic AIDS Education Training Center (AETC).

The Infectious Diseases Clinic is a joint venture of the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, UC Health, and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. The Medical Director of the Holmes Infectious Diseases Clinic (IDC) is Dr. Jaime Robertson, Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine. The Infectious Diseases Clinic is staffed by providers specializing in infectious diseases, internal medicine and psychiatry.

The ACTU is the clinical and translational research unit of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine centered in the Infectious Diseases Division. The Principal Investigator of the ACTU is Dr. Carl J. Fichtenbaum, Professor of Clinical Medicine. The ACTU is staffed by physicians specializing in infectious diseases and gastrointestinal medicine, along with registered nurses/study coordinators, and many UC Health providers and administrative personnel.

The AETC is the educational outreach program for the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine focused on providing educational opportunities for health care providers involved in the care of persons with HIV infection. The Principal Investigator of the site is Dr. Pamposh Kaul, Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine. The staff includes a Site Director and Administrative personnel. The AETC coordinates numerous training programs throughout North and Southwestern Ohio.
