Join Dr. Lisa Meeks, Associate Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Michigan, for an insightful presentation on strategies to improve access and inclusion for students with disabilities in health professions. This session will focus on effective collaboration with students and external partners to support those seeking accommodations during practicums, clinical internships, rotations, and residencies. Drawing from questions gathered over the past year from UC's health colleges, Dr. Meeks will cover key topics such as policy, legal considerations, and best practices for ensuring equitable access to educational and professional opportunities in the medical field.

Training will provide COM departments with practical tools needed to foster inclusive excellence for students, faculty and staff. Specifically, this training will cover the following areas: conducting a cultural audit, developing a DEI strategy at the departmental level, and assessing culture change and impact.
