College of Medicine Alumni Awards

The College of Medicine Alumni Executive Council recognizes distinguished alumni who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in their careers at an awards ceremony held in conjunction with Reunion Weekend each spring.

The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes MD graduates of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine for exceptional career achievements through the practice of medicine in the areas of basic research, education, clinical care and health service administration. Preference is given to individuals with national and/or international distinction during their careers. 

The Community Advocate Award recognizes MD graduates of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine practicing in a non-academic setting for outstanding service to mankind through compassionate care to communities in need and the under-served, including humanitarian, public and/or government service.

The Young Alumni Award recognizes MD graduates of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine who have made significant contributions to medicine in the areas of basic research, education, clinical care, health service administration and social or civic engagement, within 15 years post medical training.

Nominations for the following year’s alumni awards are accepted during the current year. To be eligible for consideration, completed nominations for classes ending in 0 and 5 must submitted by September 15.
