American Cancer Society (ACS) Institutional Research Grant (IRG) Pilot Project Award Program

In October 2023, the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center was awarded an American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grant to provide pilot grant support for early-stage investigators working in cancer-related fields. Over the next three years, up to nine early-stage Cancer Center investigators will benefit from this new pilot program.

The 2025 ACS IRG Pilot Project Award Program will provide $80,000 in funding for a period of one year. Up to three projects will be awarded funding this cycle. Applications will be accepted until October 15, 2024 at 5 p.m. Recognizing the importance of diversity in research, we encourage applications from all early-stage investigators, all background and all perspectives.

This is a distinct opportunity from the standard Fall and Spring Cancer Center pilot funding cycles, or the Survivorship pilot project awards program.

Eligibility:

  • Faculty affiliation with University of Cincinnati or Cincinnati Children's
  • In the first 6 years of first academic appointment
  • No prior R01 or equivalent funding award
