Education

Resident education is the other focus of the Emergency Radiology section.

Residents repeatedly cite their overnight "on-call" responsibilities as one of the most important aspects of their education. Rather than supplant the resident's work responsibilities, which would significantly hamper their educational experience, the Emergency Radiology staff strives to augment the resident's on-call experience by providing immediate feedback on residents' reports.

The faculty makes every effort to ensure that the residents maintain the autonomy and decision-making, which makes overnight call such a powerful learning experience.

Additionally, we have begun to implement faculty organized Quality Assurance conferences where difficult, interesting and misinterpreted cases from the overnight period are presented in an educational and non-judgmental fashion.

Beginning in July of 2013, will offer one 1-year Emergency Radiology fellowship position annually.
