How to Apply

Guidelines for graduates from U.S. medical schools:

Applicants of exceptional ability and promise will be considered. Recruitment follows the guidelines of the National Resident Matching Program for all appropriate applicants. Two positions per year are allotted to this combined residency. Application is made through ERAS for the combined Family Medicine/Psychiatry program.

You must submit your application, personal statement, dean's letter, transcripts, USMLE scores and three letters of recommendation. A letter of invitation to interview is sent upon review of all of these materials and you will at that time contact the program to set up an interview date.

The following is an outline of the criteria necessary for obtaining a residency position in our program:

  • All applications are processed electronically through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service); we do not accept paper applications. All candidates are selected through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).
  • The deadline for receipt of applications for the next academic year is officially Jan. 31 of the preceding year. Candidates being seriously considered will be invited to interview virtually between Oct. 18 and Dec. 20; invitations will be sent via e-mail.

Final decisions regarding the ranking of a candidate in the NRMP are made by a committee composed of those physicians who participate in the interview process.

Please note that this information is provided as a guideline for you to determine how much your background matches what we are looking for in a resident as well as how likely our program is to meet your needs. We are unable to tell you how likely it is that you will be invited for an interview or your chances of being selected for NRMP ranking.

This is largely dependent on reviewing your ERAS application and comparing you with other applicants in our interview pool.
