The Department of Pharmacology & Systems Physiology presents the John E. Maggio Lecture, sponsored by the Department of Pharmacology & Systems Physiology, the Fellows of the Graduate School, and the Neurobiology Research Center.
The lecture honors John E. Maggio, PhD (1952–2017). Dr Maggio (pictured, right) joined UC College of Medicine in 1997 as chair of Pharmacology & Cell Biophysics, a position he held until 2007. He continued as the Flor van Maanen Professor of Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics until his death. Dr Maggio also held an adjunct appointment in the Department of Neurology, Harvard Medical School.
