On behalf of our faculty, fellows, associates and academic community welcome to the division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. We are pleased to be able to offer urogynecologic care to women throughout the region. Our collective and overarching mission is to:
Pelvic floor disorders, although not life-threatening, can lead to significant personal distress. Studies have shown that pelvic floor disorders, including but not limited to accidental bladder or bowel leakage and lost vaginal support, can negatively impact a woman’s body image and quality of life. Many women, however, do not talk to their health care providers about these problems due to embarrassment or a sense there are not effective management options.
At UC Health, we are the regions only academic program in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery and we strive to be the leaders in providing best evidenced and compassionate care. We treat women with these conditions with the sensitivity and common sense, recognizing that women facing these issues often feel vulnerable and are reluctant to seek treatment. Our goal is to put the patient at ease while providing quality care by a fellowship-trained urogynecologist.
We manage a wide array of pelvic floor related conditions. We utilize both traditional treatments and new state-of-the-art techniques to provide the best possible care for our patients, always exercising caution with newer technologies and keeping patient safety paramount. We combine patient care with clinical research to evaluate our care outcomes, ensuring that our patients receive the best treatments for the best possible outcomes. Our division will always be on the forefront of patient care, education and research-honoring our mission and commitment to service, science and excellence.
We are proud of the work that we do at UC Health and feel honored to provide urogynecologic services to women throughout the region. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding the services we offer.
Sincerely,Christopher Strauchon, DO
