Our residency recently became one of the few in the country to obtain NIH sponsored Stimulating Access to Research in Residency (StARR) Program (R38) funding. This program adds an exciting option for you to pursue a protected year of research during your training.
You can pick from dozens of NIH funded laboratories and you will be supported by an active mentorship team. Throughout the program you will participate in research scholar specific professional development opportunities, including personalized career mentoring.
Our goal is to help establish career pathways and develop remarkable physician scientists that are well equipped to pursue a career in academic medicine.As an R38 resident, you will join the current physician-scientist training family that includes those in the Physician Scientist Training Program (PSTP) and those in the Internal Medicine STAR program.Please contact Jack Rubinstein, MD, for additional information regarding the R38 program.
