AAMC Traffic Protocols

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine expects that all applicants comply with the AAMC Traffic Protocols. In addition, applicants accepted to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine must comply with the following procedures for the AAMC's Choose Your Medical School (CYMS) tool. Failure to comply with the CYMS process and deadlines is grounds for the immediate rescinding of your offer of acceptance; therefore, please be proactive and thorough with the steps outlined below.

MD Admissions — CYMS Dates for 2024-2025 Application Cycle

If you are Accepted

	MD Deadline	MD/PhD Deadline
Reduce your Offers to 3	4/15	4/15
To meet this deadline, YOU MUST: Email to withdraw your application from all but THREE of your acceptances You may stay on as many Alternate Lists for other schools as you like
Plan to Enroll*	4/30	4/30
To meet this deadline YOU MUST: Email to withdraw your application from all but ONE of your acceptances Ensure your CYMS* shows that you "Plan to Enroll" at the school you have chosen Then, if you receive a NEW ACCEPTANCE from another school (i.e. from their alternate list),* YOU MUST: Email us notifying that you received an offer (not from whom, just that an offer was received) Within 7 days YOU MUST email us to notify us of your decision YOU MUST email the program you did NOT choose to have your application withdrawn Ensure your CYMS* shows that you "Plan to Enroll*" at the school you have chosen
Commit to Enroll*	July 6, 2025 at 11:59PM ET	June 6, 2025
By this deadline, YOU MUST: Withdraw from all Alternate Lists (i.e. email those schools directly) Decline all other offers of acceptance (i.e. email those schools directly) Make sure your CYMS* shows that you "Commit to Enroll*" at the University of Cincinnati
Matriculation*	July 22, 2025	June 27, 2025 (MSTP Orientation)

If you are on our Alternate List

Confirm Your Place	2 weeks post-decision	2 weeks post-decision
After doing this: Send updates regarding new information (i.e., information not currently in your application file)
Re-Confirm Your Place	5/1	5/1
By this deadline YOU MUST: Receive an email from MDadmissions@uc.edu asking you to re-confirm your place on our Alternate List Log-in to your MedOneStop status page and click the link to re-confirm your place on our Alternate List
Alternate List Offers	June – July 5 days after offer	April – June 5 days after offer
We will NOT make offers to individuals who have Committed to Enroll* or Matriculated* elsewhere. If you Commit to Enroll* or Matriculate* elsewhere you MUST email us to withdraw your application Once you have accepted our offer, YOU MUST: Decline all other offers of acceptance (i.e. email those schools directly) within 7 days of the offer Make sure your CYMS* shows that you Plan to Enroll* at the University of Cincinnati Withdraw from all Alternate Lists (i.e. email those schools directly) by 7/3 (i.e. Commit to Enroll*)
