Research InterestsThe Plas lab aims to discover mechanisms that link cancer-causing mutations to oncogenic metabolism in cancers affected by mutations in PTEN and PI3K, including cancers of the blood, brain, and breast. Current work is investigating the metabolic and apoptotic effects of targeting the protein kinase S6K1, using both genetic approaches and emerging experimental therapeutics.
