Welcome to the Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Our mission includes pursuit of excellence in education, clinical care, service, and research.

Our faculty members have significant clinical and teaching roles in the College of Medicine, serving as clinicians and educators at multiple sites including the College of Medicine, inpatient and ambulatory venues at UC Health’s Medical Center, the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, and multiple community practice sites in the UC Health Primary Care Network.

We provide comprehensive and coordinated care, working hand in hand with our specialist colleagues. Major focus areas of clinical expertise in clinical research include Population Health, Headache Medicine, Sickle Cell Disease, Transitional Care of Pediatric Patients with Chronic Diseases, Anticoagulation Therapy, and Medical Education research. Members of our division are in the national forefront of medical education research and curriculum changes for both medical students and resident and fellow physicians.

Faculty in the Division have assumed leadership roles in UC Health’s Primary Care Network, at the College of Medicine and the UC Medical Center.

The physicians in this division are honored to have the opportunity to care for patients and train medical students, residents and fellows at UC Medical Center and UC College of Medicine, which is identified as one of the top 50 medical centers in the country. In the ambulatory space we have had the designation of Patient-Centered Medical homes for our practices and pursue quality improvement work, as well as in outcomes research.

Both our medical center-based practices and our community practices are an integral part of the UC family providing primary care across the region.

As service to our community, we are involved with the Centering Healthcare platform which provides group visits for our patients with chronic disease and outreach with a community-based kitchen and garden program.

We look forward to an exciting future as we fulfill our vision to become leaders in integrated patient centered care and using population health methods, as well as innovative clinical and education research, while also providing an outstanding education to our student and resident learners.
