Our Mission
The University of Cincinnati Brain Tumor Center integrates the research and translational activities of an interdisciplinary team of investigators in discovery science, translational, and clinical research disciplines from across the University of Cincinnati and its neighboring institutions. Together we discover new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies that can reduce the impact of tumors that arise in the brain, spine, and nervous system, as well as tumors that metastasize to the brain.
The UC Brain Tumor Center partners with the University of Cincinnati Gardner Neuroscience Institute and the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center. Sponsoring research from the UC Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Engineering, and other units, the UC Brain Tumor Center accelerates research through funding, centralized services, and outreach to partnering organizations.
Cancers That We Treat
The UC Brain Tumor Center is the academic medical center providing the Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and neighboring communities with the latest technology and treatment of cancers that occur in the brain, spine and nervous system.

Cancers That We Investigate
Tumors of the Brain and Nervous System
Our researchers are dedicated to investigating cancers affecting the brain, spine and nervous system including glioma, glioblastoma, acoustic neuroma, meningioma, neurofibromatosis types 1 and 2, medulloblastoma, diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) and more.
Metastatic Brain Tumors
Cancers of the lung, breast, melanoma, kidneys and colon have a propensity to metastasize and grow in the brain. Researchers in the Brain Tumor Center specialize in the tumors that grow in these tissue types to learn how to counteract the cancer properties that allow these cells to spread to the brain.
