CANDR is co-directed by two of the University of Cincinnati's foremost experts in cerebrovascular disease and neuroscience:
Dr. Hyacinth is the endowed Chair for Brain Health in the Department of Neurology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. His research focuses on the vascular biology of cerebral small vessel disease and its contributions to cognitive decline and Alzheimer's disease, with a particular emphasis on identifying and addressing health disparities in underserved communities. Dr. Hyacinth's leadership brings a deep commitment to inclusive, community-engaged science that reflects the full diversity of our region.
Dr. Broderick is a nationally and internationally recognized leader in stroke medicine and cerebrovascular research, with nearly four decades of experience leading large-scale, multi-site clinical trials and research studies. His groundbreaking work in stroke epidemiology and treatment has shaped the standard of stroke care and prevention for millions of patients worldwide. As co-director of CANDR, Dr. Broderick brings unparalleled experience in building large-scale research infrastructure and national collaborative networks.
